President Accepts Peace Prize for America!

As I have stated previously, I thought the President, upon receiving the 1.4 million dollars should sign the back of it and use it to pay down a very very slight portion of our national debt.  It is the right thing to do not only in a moral sense also legally as well.

I read an article today in the American Spectator that quoted the Constitutions article 1, stating  “No person holding any office of Profit or Trust… shall, without the consent of Congress, accept any present, Emolument, Office or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or Foreign State.”  The Parliament of Norway votes to elect recipients of prize.

I have attached the link for anyone interested in reading the full story.  Just backs up my belief that every cent of the prize money should go to the treasury to pay down a less than significant part of  our national debt which by the way will be at a whopping 13 trillion by the end of 2010.
